Cooperation Agreement

The cooperation agreement with the TES Cluster was officially signed on 2nd April 2007 in Paris between the Chairman of the TES Cluster M. Yves Randoux, and Eurosmart Chairman Jacques Seneca.

Members of the TES Cluster will come to Brussels in June for a seminar dedicated to ICT policy in Europe, organised by Eurosmart Secretariat with the support of the Representation of the Region of Basse-Normandie in Brussels. Industrials of the TES Cluster will have the opportunity to meet key actors of the European institutions and to exchange views on the main challenge and opportunities to come for the electronic secured transactions at EU level.

EUROSMART Working Groups activities

- Security experts are presenting a Protection Profile survey - Eurosmart members have shared and improved their expertise on PP since 1997. More than 30 PPs exists today – less than 50% are certified and which are in use?

- eID and M&T WG members are proposing a new terminology for contactless applications “Secure Contactless Device”, in order to better differentiate the various RFID applications. Eurosmart will bring the issue at international level inside the ISCAN network for a common terminology.

- Form Factor WG members deliver an in depth survey on the “Smart” USB Token, i.e. with authentication features based both on hardware and software. The study shows that the main market driving factors are the need for strong authentication, decreasing price of flash memory and convenience: capacity to store several applications and wide use of the USB standard.
