The exhibition was an opportunity to make contacts with our members, describe the benefits of membership to interested companies and increase Eurosmart visibility on the American market.

Eurosmart members not exhibiting this year had their documentation available on the booth. This experience should be renewed and extended to other exhibitions for members constant visibility.

The ISCAN meeting on May 12 was the occasion to compare national governments position on smart card, requirements, existing schemes and future large scale launch.

Partners confirmed the upcoming deployment of governments Smart ID cards even though various projects are slowed by cost or privacy issues. Interoperability and common standardisation are the main requirements for global deployment and are supported by ISCAN.

The promotion of the benefits of such a card should also be the task of the network. Many partners welcome the European Union experience achieved through the eEurope Smart Cards initiative.

Randy Vanderhoof, Executive Director of Smart Card Alliance is now at the head of ISCAN and presented the network during the press conference on May 13 afternoon.
