Joint Market/Security Working Groups meeting
on 5 May 2004: representatives from both
working groups met to adopt a common action
plan on Security certification and continue
to follow-up on the European Commission
legal proposal on payment services in the
internal market.
Marketing Managers from Member Companies
also approved the future release of a global
document on smart card application useful
for national administrations all over Europe
in the process of organising future deployment
(driver’s licenses, vehicle registration
documents, citizen cards…)

is working on the launch of a feasibility
study of a Smart Card World Center for Scientific
Information under the “e-Content “
Programme
The
objective of the project would be to collect
scientific information of quality, to centralized
classify, and disseminated it in on from
a unique on-line support.
The added value of the “Smart Knowledge”
is to create in Europe a smart card digital
scientific information database that could
contribute to maintaining the European leadership
in the smart card strongly competitive industry.
