Eurosmart General Assembly - 24 April 2008, Brussels

Eurosmart Members adopted new by-laws for the Association introducing new membership levels and a new management process, with the aim to take account of the new tagline and ambition of the association to represent the Smart Security Industry, to bring additional resources to our Association and to increase its visibility, network and influence.

Eurosmart was also happy to welcome Texas Instruments and Precise Biometrics as new members.

The 2007-2008 Activity Report showed the commitment of the Association to value the security expertise of the Smart Security Industry and to care about explaining the added-value of Smart Secure Objects in a digital world.

New White Papers

During Eurosmart General Assembly, the New Form Factors Working Group delivered its White Paper on Smart USB Token presenting the benefits of Smart USB Token as personal and portable Smart Secure Device providing strong authentication and ease of use.

The White Paper on Smart Security Market Segmentation presents a security ranking of products based on several use cases, showing that the Smart Security Industry provides the right solutions for every use cases and adequate levels of security.

Interoperability is fundamental to access a mobile world, and standards are the right answer for interoperability, especially in the public sector, explained Eurosmart experts Marc Gemeto (convenor of the M&T WG) and Bruno Rouchouze (convenor of the eID subgroup) in the last edition of Secure Magazine.

Looking at the future of the Smart Security Industry in 2020 was a huge challenge, testifies Michel Koenig (Polytechniqu’Nice). In more than ten years, Smart Secure Devices will be everywhere in our daily life, enhancing our privacy while making electronic transactions ever more easy and secure.
