EUROSMART Vice-Chairman, Dr Jürgen Moll will open the 6th edition of e-Smart conference on 21 September 2005 in Sophia-Antipolis. This year edition is linked to World e-ID conference, devoted to main issues on trusted electronic identities and Smart University session, an educational programme designed and delivered by high level academics.

During the event, the new 2005-2006 version of the Smart Card Directory is distributed – a useful tool for future business and political actions for all smart card stakeholders.

EUROSMART will chair the next Payment Fraud Expert Sub-Group on Security Evaluation & Certification on 12 September 2005 at the European Commission.

The mandate of the group is as follows: monitor the implementation of methods adopted by Payment Industry and products vendors for the evaluation and the certification of their products and services in order to strengthen payment systems security. It keeps abreast of the principles adopted with regard to security evaluation and certification methods standardization as well as of the main developments in this area.

EUROSMART next meetings

-	Communication Working Group meeting is scheduled on 19 September in Brussels to prepare Eurosmart release of position papers and press conference at next Cartes 2005 in November.
-	Eurosmart Smart Card Shipment data for the first semester 2005 are under collection.
-	Steering Committee is scheduled on 26 September in Paris. Members will prepare next General Assembly and discuss new member applications.
