EUROSMART is an international not-for-profit association, located in Brussels, which represents the voice of the Smart Security Industry for multi-sector applications. Since its creation in 1995, Eurosmart has been committed to expanding the world's smart secure devices market, developing smart security standards and continuously improving quality and security applications. Smart Secure devices are smart objects which contain a secure IC and embedded software and support personalization by the issuer. The main purpose is to offer Human-to-Machine as well as Machine-to-Machine security services such as data integrity, user authentication or secure storage. It comes in multiple form factors, including Smart card and Smart USB token. This includes personal, portable as well as embedded devices.

The association principally gathers manufacturers of Smart cards and Smart Secure devices, Smart Secure devices integrated circuit manufacturers, terminals, equipment for smart cards system integrators, application developers and issue. The association has enlarged its scope to welcome members from new horizons such as universities, educational institutions, government bodies, public labs, not-for-profit organisations, independent and industry experts. Members work within dedicated working groups on security, market analysis, new form factors, electronic identity and communication issues. As an association gathering members from the whole value chain, Eurosmart is the ideal forum to value the expertise of the Smart Security industry regarding security, especially privacy management.

The Activity Reports show the commitment of the association to promote the security expertise of the Smart Security Industry and take care of explaining the added-value of Smart Secure Objects in a digital world.
