Eurosmart held its General Assembly on 30 April 2009 in Brussels. Members elected a new Bureau for the Association:
Chairman : Marc Bertin (Oberthur Technologies)
Vice-Chairmen : Michael Kuemmerle (Giesecke & Devrient) and Xavier Larduinat (Gemalto)
Treasurer : Helmut Gassel (Infineon)

General Secretary : Bruno Dupont

As a platform gathering the whole chain of the Smart Security Industry, Eurosmart aims at enabling members to share on pre-competitive topics and prepare the future of the Smart Security Industry. One of our main objectives for 2009 is to confirm Eurosmart position as being the reference for market analysis in Smart Security field, by exploring new fields such as the NFC markets.

 

As a professional Association representing an industry that provides billions of Smart and Secure objects for daily life applications, we believe that Eurosmart has an important role to play in educating consumers and end‐users. To make our technology more visible and tangible, Eurosmart will elaborate a glossary explaining in simple words the complexity and added value of Smart Secure technologies.

 

Eurosmart has definitely enlarged its scope and mission to address the key stakeholders that are promoting Smart Secure Devices for a wide range of applications. Now our Association is open to new categories of members (labs, universities, government bodies and individual experts) that can enjoy benefits and rights associated to their membership category and take advantage of Eurosmart visibility and reputation.
