Bernard Morvant

Bernard Morvant is an independent consultant, expert in smart secure transaction solutions, managing the business development initiatives and international projects for Sofie, a consulting services company.

 

After working for companies such as American Express, Visa International, Ingenico, Gemplus, Bernard Morvant is now involved in smart ID card and travel documents projects as programme director for the definition of new generation e-ID card system as well as multi biometric solution for ICAO compliant passports and other card programmes; in his new capacity of e-ID expert, he is advising government agencies and industry leaders in the development of new ID product and e-government related initiatives.

Bernard was Chairman of the Device Committee of the Global Platform consortium in 2001 and 2002 and has been instrumental in the inception of European project initiative such as EPAS(Electronic Protocol Application Software) for payment card point of interaction solutions.

 

He was conference chairman at the conference Cartes in Paris in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

 

Bernard is a business development expert graduated in International Business Management from Institute d'Administration des Entreprises/ University of Lyon.
