Form Factors
New Form Factors Working Group
In order to enlarge the scope of applications and the influence of Eurosmart, a Working Group has been created to study and monitor the new form factors, focusing on other formats than the card. With the evolution of the smart card technology, the group provides a deep analysis of the non-smart-card form factor market, including present and future key players and technologies.
The Working Group has been focusing on Smart M2M with the publication of a Report and a White Paper (see below) and the organisation of a module during the Smart University Programme on this topic. The New Form Factors Working Group is also now focusing on the Internet of Things, preparing a Position Paper that will provide a definition of this concept and market figures, and present key players, technology trends and added value for security.
At Cartes 2010, Eurosmart animated live demonstrations on Smart M2M.
Jean-Pierre Delesse is the current convenor of the group.
