Eurosmart New Form Factors Working Group
In order to enlarge the scope of applications and the influence of Eurosmart, a Working Group has been created to study and monitor the new form factors, focusing on other formats than the card. With the evolution of the smart card technology, the group provides a deep analysis of the non smart card form factor market, including present and future key players and technologies.
Jean-Pierre Delesse is the current convenor of the group.
The group has focused focusing on Smart USB Token and published two major documents:

In order to prepare the White Paper on Smart USB Token, the WG made a Smart USB Token Market Analysis

During Eurosmart General Assembly, the New Form Factors Working Group delivered its White Paper on Smart USB Token presenting the benefits of Smart USB Token as personal and portable Smart Secure Device providing strong authentication and ease of use.

The Working Group then focused on Smart M2M modules :
"Smart M2M report" (April 2009)
Eurosmart is extending its presence and vision in global Smart Security by issuing this new report on Smart M2M, ensuring a common definition among Eurosmart members and providing relevant information like technology trends, market figures, etc.

"Smart M2M White Paper" (November 2009)
After its report adopted in April 2009, the New Form Factors Working Group publishes its White Paper on Smart M2M (Machine-to-Machine), which provides an analysis of the market, going deeper in the market segmentation and giving examples of applications and use cases.

The Group is also considering studying other form factors such as Internet of Things from 2010 onward.
