The Communication Working Group

Composed of marketing & communication managers and press officers, the Communication Working Group promotes Eurosmart's image as being "The Voice of the Smart Security Industry" and supports the working groups' respective missions and activities.

The group also supports Eurosmart's education mission through various initiatives: the Smart Security Glossary, high-level training courses, live demonstrations, etc. The objective is to explain the assets of the Smart Security industry and increase the consumers' awareness regarding the added value of the products delivered by its members.

Clotilde Servajean is the current convenor of the group.

Eurosmart at Smart Event

Eurosmart is deeply involved in the organisation of the Smart Event conference (Sophia Antipolis). Initially, Eurosmart founded the "e-Smart" conference together with Global Platform and Java Card, with the intention of establishing an annual forum where the industry experts and leaders would be able to present and discuss the challenges of the industry. Today, Smart Event is a major forum of knowledge-sharing, learning, and networking in the fields of e-ID, e-mobility and Smart Security.

smarteventphotoIn 2009, for its 10th edition, Smart Event encompassed 3 international conferences covering complementary areas of which Eurosmart was greatly involved in the organisation:

  • The future of digital security technologies: e-Smart
  • The building of trusted mobile applications: Smart Mobility
  • The next generation of e-ID management technologies and services: World e-ID

Eurosmart is the co-organiser of e-Smart and Institutional partner of World e-ID, Smart Mobility and Smart University.

Eurosmart at Cartes & IDentification

Since 1999, Eurosmart has been the official sponsor of Cartes & IDentification exhibition held each year in November in Paris-Nord Villepinte. The exhibition is a great opportunity to increase Eurosmart's visibility and meet potential new members.

Apart from the inclusion of Eurosmart's logo on all Cartes publications and panels in different areas, the Association disseminates its annual activity reports and its different position papers among the visitors and exhibitors. Furthermore, each year, EUROSMART holds its awaited bi-annual press conference, with the presentation of the priorities of the Association and shipment figures by the Chairman.

At Cartes 2010, Eurosmart animated live demos on Smart M2M zone and on Smart Biometrics for Trust and Convenience. The Live demos on Smart M2M included eCall, smart metering, hardware enabling M2M applications, M2M SIM-centric services and M2M innovation services for end-users. The Live demos on Biometrics included mobile and fixed enrolment stations, biometrics for ID verification, authentication and signature, applications on Match-on-Card, and mobile terminals for card authentication.

A large communication action was launched around the M2M and IoT demonstration zone in partnership with Smart Cards Trends. On the occasion of Cartes 2009, when a similar zone on Smart M2M was organised, a four-page booklet dedicated to the zone was included in the special issue of the magazine dedicated to Cartes & Identification Exhibition. With 2000 issues distributed, this booklet gave to the M2M and IoT zone significant visibility throughout the four days of the event. Read the 4-page insert in Slmart Cards Trends.

Eurosmart 10th anniversary

carte_eurosmartThe 10th anniversary provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the past achievements of the Association and to look forward to new challenges. In April 2005, the anniversary was celebrated in the prestigious Bibliothèque Solvay in Brussels with the theme "Smart card in the EU Agenda". This involved representatives of European institutions who were interested in understanding the importance of our industry and looking at how new challenges could be addressed to our mutual benefit.
