Eurosmart at Cartes & IDentification
Since 1999, Eurosmart has been the official sponsor of Cartes & IDentification exhibition held each year on November in Paris-Nord Villepinte. The exhibition is a great opportunity to increase Eurosmart visibility and meet potential new members.

Apart from Eurosmart logo on all Cartes publications and panels in different areas, the Association disseminates its annual activity reports and its different position papers among the visitors and exhibitors. Besides, each year, EUROSMART holds its awaited bi-annual press conference, with the presentation of the priorities of the Association and shipment figures by the Chairman.
At Cartes 2009, Eurosmart animated for the first time a M2M and Internet of Things
Zone, giving the opportunity to Eurosmart members to present some demonstrations, including automotive applications, home automations, telemetry, and other innovative technical solutions.
A large communication action was launched around the M2M and IoT demonstration zone in partnership with Smart Cards Trends. A four pages booklet dedicated to the zone was included in the special issue of the magazine dedicated to Cartes & Identification Exhibition. With 2000 issues distributed, this booklet gave to the M2M and IoT zone a great visibility all along the four days of the event. Read the 4-page insert in Slmart Cards Trends.
Eurosmart 10th anniversary
The 10th anniversary provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the past achievements of the Association and to look forward to new challenges. In April 2005, the anniversary was celebrated in the prestigious Bibliothèque Solvay in Brussels with the theme "Smart card in the EU Agenda". This involved representatives of European institutions who were interested in understanding the importance of our industry and looking at how new challenges could be addressed to our mutual benefit.

The evening debate - which attracted 100 representatives of the European Commission, EU Parliament and Member States as well as Eurosmart experts - included a dinner/debate, which was hosted by Mrs Viviane Reding, the European Commissioner in charge of Information Society and Media.

Collaboration with Smart Card Associations
The Communication WG also facilitates international cooperation by developing links with other associations such as the ISCAN (International Smart Card Associations Network).
ISCAN was initiated by Eurosmart in Cartes 2001 when Smart Card associations expressed the necessity for a permanent exchange at an international scale through new ways of co-operation. These Smart Card associations gathered in April 2002 in New Orleans where they expressed their wish to strengthen this cooperation by launching a network: ISCAN. The founding charter was officially signed on November 4th, 2002 during Cartes and IT Security in Paris. ISCAN members meet twice a year and focus on a specific topic related to the smart card market.
