Product and System Security Working Group (PSSWG)
The Product and System Security Working Group (PSSWG) gathers a body of experts with a combined knowledge of the major players of the smart security industry, from the semiconductors manufacturers, to the software developers, smart devices personalisers and issuers.
The main mission of the group is to optimise smart security efficiency in term of assurance, methodology and cost.
PSSWG launched two technical groups involving main actors in the evaluation and certification chain (CC accredited laboratories, Certification authorities):
- ISCI-WG1 group's mission is to define the methodology and best practices for smart security device evaluation with Common Criteria. See more information on ISCI.
- JHAS's (formely ISCI-WG2) mission is to define and maintain the state-of-art attack potential for the smart security devices.
PSSWG provides technical support to the smart community, to the customers and other governmental or European organisations through the definition of protection profiles (Smart security IC Protection Profile BSI-PP0035), publication of technical papers (RFID, Algorithm constraints, PP survey), active participation in FPEG in the framework of SEPA.

PSSWG launched the first trial on Common Criteria Site Certification process applied to a smart card manufacturing site. This process saves time and costs for site security evaluation tasks when evaluating a product with Common Criteria methodology. See more information on the process .

Security Managers Working Group
The Security Managers of the main Eurosmart card business members meet regularly in the Security Management Working Group.
Today, many different security standards and certification schemes exist in parallel in our markets. We have to meet all of these, including even partly conflicting requirements.
The objective of the WG is to align the requirements as well as the methodologies of the scheme providers in order to reduce costs and effort. Therefore the Working Group and its members are in close contact with all major scheme providers, e.g. Mastercard, VISA, the GSM Association, GIE Cartes Bancaires, etc.
Michael-John Turk is the current convenor of the group.
