On October 27, Francois Hollande hosted a French-German conference on Digital agenda in the presence of Angela Merkel.
The conference aimed to introduce the French-German vision of the Digital Single Market and to promote it among the other 26 EU member states. France's Minister for the Economy, Emmanuel Macron, and Germany's Federal Minister of Economic Affairs, Sigmar Gabriel, agreed to intensify their bilateral cooperation on digital. At this occasion, they notably received 15 proposals jointly prepared by the French Digital Council and the German Young Digital Economy advisory board. The report covers subjects ranging from education to the Internet of Things as a priority.
Eurosmart attended the workshop on Data economy which seeked to identify possible cooperation to support the development of an European industry in this sector. Speakers pointed out that trust, confidence and transparency are key objectives.
The next conference will be held in the course of 2016.
