The European Cyber Security Month (ECSM) is the EU's annual advocacy campaign that takes place in October and aims to raise awareness of cyber security threats and promote cyber security among citizens.
As part of the ECSM, Europol launched a joint Mobile Malware Awareness Campaign during the week of 24th October. Mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets have become essential to citizens and yet, the cybercriminals activities targeting these devices have grown.
During this week, most of the Member States, EU agencies (ENISA and eu-LISA) as well as public and private partners will set a range of activities varies from press conference, training courses and social media in order to raise awareness about the consequences of mobile malware attacks and to help people better protect their mobile devices.
Europol's European Cybercrime Centre has also developed awareness-raising material to explain how to perform every day activities in a secure way as the connection WI-FI or internet banking.
