eIDAS in the Tallinn Declaration on eGovernment

On 6 October, all EU Member States and EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) signed the Tallinn Declaration on eGovernment
in the framework of the eGovernment Ministerial Conference.
EU Member States and EFTA countries confirmed their commitment to the vision laid out in the eGovernment Action Plan 2016-2020
. Nevertheless, they underlined that “more needs to be done and faster”.
At national level, EU Member States and EFTA countries committed to increasing the uptake of national eID schemes,
and ensuring the timely implementation and the widespread use of eIDAS Regulation.
At EU level, EU Member States and EFTA countries call upon the Commission to take steps to increase recognition of eIDAS compliant solutions by global market players and to promote the use of standards that ensure uniform conditions for the implementation of eIDAS Regulation.
