European blockchain procurement: market event

On 27 April, the European Commission organised a webinar on the European Blockchain Pre-Commercial Procurement (see previous briefing here for background information). The objective of this online event was to collect feedback from interested market parties on the technical feasibility of the project.

Through this blockchain procurement, the European Commission aims to develop novel blockchain solutions for the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure. These solutions should support multiple use cases, including five new important types of use cases: Immigration & Asylum coordination, e-Health, supporting SMEs, VAT tracking and the Green product portfolio.
