Cybersecurity Atlas: mapping cybersecurity expertise across Europe

The European Commission is currently working on the Cybersecurity Atlas initiative: a project which aims to create a digital knowledge management platform to map, categorise and stimulate collaboration between entities with cybersecurity expertise across Europe. This tool will support the future European Cybersecurity Competence Centre and Network.

The pilot projects of the future Competence Centre (CONCORDIA, ECHO, SPARTA, CyberSec4Europe) will be earlier contributors to this platform. This initiative is an opportunity to play a role in an enlarged cybersecurity research and expertise network in Europe, and to contribute to relevant EU policies, programmes, events, and sectorial activities.

On 13 July, the European Commission (DG CNECT and JRC) organised a webinar to present the initiative. All pilot projects were invited to attend the event. Eurosmart is part of CONCORDIA’s Advisory Board.

An insightful cybersecurity taxonomy was distributed during the webinar. You can find it here.

Please also find below the key slides (screenshots) from the webinar.

Next steps:

August 2020: Test phase starts

September 2020: Pilot phase starts (for pilot members and ECSO members)

December 2020: Project open to all (for all 660 cybersecurity research centres listed in the 2018 survey)
