AI Committee of the European Parliament: election of Chair and Vice-Chairs

On 23 September, the European Parliament Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age (AIDA) held its constitutive meeting. The following Chair and Vice-Chairs were elected by acclamation:

-Chair: Dragoş Tudorache (Renew, Romania)

-First Vice-Chair: Miapetra Kumpula-Natri (S&D, Finland)

-Second Vice-Chair: Geoffroy Didier (EPP, France)

-Third Vice-Chair: Edina Tóth (EPP, Hungary)

-Fourth Vice-Chair: Birgit Sippel (S&D, Allemagne)

Background

The AIDA Committee will study the impact and challenges of rolling out AI, and propose a roadmap with objectives for the EU in the field of AI and the steps that need to be taken to achieve them. This Special Committee was set up last June.
