Raw materials: launch of ERMA and call for experts for the partnership
Last week, Commissioner Thierry Breton and Commission’s Vice President Maroš Šefčovič, launched the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA). The launch of ERMA follows the publication of the Action Plan on Critical Raw materials in September (see previous briefing here). The ultimate goal of ERMA is to reduce Europe’s raw materials’ dependency on third countries.
ERMA gathers public and private stakeholders from the following sectors: primary raw materials, advanced materials and intermediate products, final products, recycling. It is still possible to join ERMA.
In parallel, another structure, the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials has launched two calls for experts:
-call for applications for the selection of members of the Commission operational expert group of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials
-call for applications for the selection of members of the high-level steering group of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials and of its “sherpas” subgroup
Duration of the mandate: 4 years
Deadline for application: 31 October 2020
Please find below the links to the calls.
