Atos and Thales create a joint venture for big data and AI
On 27 May, Atos and Thales announced the creation of Athea, a joint venture that will develop a sovereign big data and AI platform for defence and security. The platform could be used by public and private players in the defence, intelligence and internal state security communities. It will start by targeting the French market before expanding to the European market.
The two French companies will collaborate with an ecosystem of large companies, SMEs, start-ups and research institutes specialising in big data and AI.
The platform will build up on the ARTEMIS programme, the big data platform that was developed by Atos and Thales for the French Ministry of Armed Forces.
