Too many security gaps in ETSI’s document on identity proofing
In this new position paper, Eurosmart comments the latest draft of ETSI’s technical specification on identity proofing. The paper underlines the importance of identity proofing in our society (e.g., for trust services, online banking). Therefore, reliable identity proofing is key to avoid undermining citizens’ trust. ETSI’s document is crucial in this respect but, unfortunately, still contains many security flaws. Eurosmart enjoins ETSI to follow its recommendations.
