European Commission unveils Horizon Europe work programme for 2021-2022
Yesterday [16 June], the European Commission published the work programme for Horizon Europe. This work programme covers the years 2021 and 2022.
Horizon Europe is a research and innovation programme that funds European projects. It has an overall budget of 95,5 billion euros for 2021-2027. The work programme presented by the Commission yesterday will receive a total of 14,7 billion euros out of this total budget.
In its press release, the European Commission underlines that “Horizon Europe is by default open to the world”. This means that non-EU countries can take part in the calls, “with generally the same conditions as those of the Member States”. Only a few calls will be subject to limited participation.
