Commissioner Thierry Breton in Japan and South Korea to discuss semiconductors

This week, Commissioner Thierry Breton will travel to Japan and South Korea to discuss digital and tech matters. He will notably address the upcoming European Chips Act with Asian partners.

On 28 September, Thierry Breton will meet Japanese officials, including the Minister for Economy, the Chairman of the Board of NEC , and the CEO of Fujitsu. On 29 September, Commissioner Breton will meet Mr Toshiki Kawai, CEO of Tokyo Electron (TEL), a leading Japanese semiconductor company.

The following two days, Commissioner Breton will be in South Korea to meet officials and industry representatives.
