2022 leaked Commission Work Programme

A leaked version of the 2022 Work Programme of the European Commission is currently circulating. It shows the list of initiatives with the planned timeline. You will find below future initiatives of interest for Eurosmart members. Please note that this is only a draft version.

European Cyber Resilience Act

Q3 2022

It will establish common European cybersecurity standards for products and services placed on the market. The Act could include a new duty of care for connected device manufacturers to address software vulnerabilities, including the continuation of software and security updates, as well as ensuring, at the end of life, deletion of personal and other sensitive data.

European Chips Act

Q3 2022

The EU Chips Act is a response to 1) the current shortage of semiconductors in manufacturing and 2) the acceleration of support to innovation and capacities in relation to semiconductors worldwide. The Act will potentially incorporate a package of measures.

 

Building an EU space-based global secure communication system

Q2 2022

Revision of the Directive on driving licences

November 2022

The revision will take digital driving licences into account.

Revision of the Directive on type approval for motor vehicles

December 2022

Next steps:

The European Commission will officially unveil its 2022 Work Programme on 19 October 2021.
