Horizon Europe calls: ICT standardisation
Yesterday [12 October], the European Commission released two series of Horizon Europe calls. One specific call for proposals focuses on “leveraging standardisation in Digital Technologies”. The objective is to connect European stakeholder ecosystems with European and international standardisation bodies.
A few projects will be selected and contribute to the following outcomes:
-Engagement of required stakeholders and experts to ensure lasting impact;
-Increase the influence of Europe into ICT standardisation, ensuring promotion of European requirements, values and interests;
-Set-up of a facility to support participation of European specialists in international ICT Standard Developing Organisations and global fora and consortia;
-Increase the participation of European specialists in international ICT Standardisation activities to support European values and interests, including in leadership positions;
-Synergies with other similar initiatives or European players including from EU (and national) funded R&I projects;
-Increase awareness and education on sustainability and ICT standardisation;
-Support standardisation meetings in Europe, so that European players have easier conditions for participation.
