ENISA 2021 Threat Landscape

Today [27 October], ENISA released the 2021 edition of its Threat Landscape report. Public administration represents the most targeted sector, with 198 cybersecurity incidents last year. The report mentions cyberattacks against the European Medicines Agency, the European Banking Authority and Belgium’s Interior Ministry. Digital service providers come second with 152 cybersecurity incidents. For 2021, it is worth noting a significantly high number of attacks targeting the health sector (143).

The ENISA report identifies malicious activities as a key trend relating to the COVID-19 crisis, particularly phishing campaigns.
