eIDAS: Agreement in the European Parliament

Last week, Committees in the European Parliament could agree on how the competences will be shared for the eIDAS file.

ITRE is the lead committee.

LIBE committee will be granted exclusive and shared competences in respect to the alignment with GDPR, transparency requirements and protection of personal data and fundamental rights.

JURI committee will be granted exclusive competences on the provisions regulating the legal effects of trust services.

IMCO Committee will be granted exclusive and shared competences on issues of accessibility, mutual recognition (also with third countries) and services.

The timetable will be established.
