Upcoming Horizon Europe calls: AI, identity, cybersecurity
Horizon Europe funds research and innovation activities. A series of upcoming calls could be of interest to Eurosmart members. They are categorised by topic.
Artificial Intelligence
-Processing solutions for AI at the edge addressing the design stack and middleware
Opening date: 18 January 2022
-AI, Data and Robotics for Industry optimisation (including production and services)
-Increased robotics capabilities demonstrated in key sectors
-AI for human empowerment
-European Network of AI Excellence Centres: Expanding the European AI lighthouse
These calls will open on 16 June 2022.
Another call is named “Public spaces are protected while respecting privacy and avoiding mass surveillance”. This call will open on 30 June 2022.
Identity
-Enhanced security of, and combating the frauds on, identity management and identity and travel documents
Opening date: 30 June 2022
Cybersecurity/Protection of infrastructure
-Autonomous systems used for infrastructure protection
-Improved monitoring of threats, intrusion detection and response in complex and heterogeneous digital systems and infrastructures
-Trustworthy methodologies, tools and data security “by design” for dynamic testing of potentially vulnerable, insecure hardware and software components
-Transition towards Quantum-Resistant Cryptography
-Development and validation of processes and tools used for agile certification of ICT products, ICT services and ICT processes

-A Pan-European chip infrastructure for design innovation
This call was already mentioned in an earlier newsletter. It will open on 18 January 2022.
Environment
-Smarter buildings for better energy performance
-Advanced multimodal network and traffic management for seamless door-to-door mobility of passengers and freight transport
-Smart enforcement for resilient, sustainable and more efficient transport operations
-Accelerating the deployment of new and shared mobility services for the next decade
