European Commission’s bug bounty programme
This week, the European Commission launched a bug bounty programme for open source solutions. Bug bounty hunters will be able to earn up to 5000 euros for finding vulnerabilities in LibreOffice, LEOS, Mastodon, Odoo and CryptPad. These office solutions are used by public services across the EU. The bug bounty programme also includes a 20% bonus if the security researcher provides a code fix for the discovered bug.
The European Commission Open Source Programme Office (EC OSPO) relies on the bug bounty platform Intigriti for this project. The EU institution provided a total of 200 000 euros.
This project is part of the Open Source Software Strategy for 2020-2023.
