MEPs adopt the Data Governance Act
On 6 April, a majority of MEPs voted in favour of the Data Governance Act (DGA). This text aims to increase the availability of data for start-ups and businesses.
For this purpose, the DGA facilitates the reuse of certain data held by the public sector and creates new rules on the neutrality of data marketplaces. Trusted data sharing services will be more visible and use a common European logo certifying their compliance with the DGA.
Member States and the European Parliament found a compromise on the text last November. Therefore, the adopted text is the result of these negotiations.
