Didier Sérodon to Succeed Timothée Mangenot as Eurosmart President

Brussels, November 15th, 2016 – Didier Sérodon (Safran Identity & Security) has been appointed as the new President of Eurosmart, a Brussels based organisation representing the Smart Security Industry.

Didier Sérodon, SVP Continuous Improvement and Strategic Projects at Safran Identity and Security, has over 25-year experience, working in different management functions in several European countries in the Smart Security Industry, for companies such as Philips, Oberthur Card Systems, Aspects software, Ingenico and Safran Identity & Security (aka Morpho).

Didier Sérodon is committed to continuing the work of Eurosmart: “Our business is changing and becoming ever more digital – as is the whole world. The question of security and protection of data and privacy remains. Eurosmart, the voice of the smart security industry, has always been at the forefront of data protection and secure digital identification and authentication. This is now more important than ever.”
Eurosmart has been fighting for standardisation, interoperability and deployment of secure digital applications across Europe since it was founded in 1995. Several European regulations that have been widely implemented, such as Commission Implementing Decision 2016/650 referring to European Standards and Protection profiles, are based on the expertise provided by Eurosmart.

“Eurosmart is now entering a new era. The foundation of the European Cyber Security Organisation, ECSO, much welcomed by Eurosmart, shows that cybersecurity is finally being taken seriously in Brussels. Eurosmart will be represented in several functions and will contribute with the expertise of all its members to making the Internet of Things above all a safe place for European citizens. In addition, the growing hyperconnectivity needs security guidelines and checks tailored to each segment of the hyperconnected world. Eurosmart is uniquely positioned to provide these” said the new President.
